Background 

The covid-19 pandemic has brought the business world to a standstill. The offline retail industry is facing a difficult situation as the pandemic is keeping shoppers at home and away from physical stores. Customers are turning to online shopping, and this shift in consumer behavior has put pressure on major retailers to rethink their customer journey in their online and offline stores.

 

Challenge

New Town Plaza as one of the key shopping malls in Hong Kong, also faces a drop in sales during the pandemic. They hope to drive sales from online to their offline stores and enhance the customer shopping experience.

 

Solution

PRIZM built an e-voucher online shop, which allows NTP to sell e-vouchers of over 100 tenants online, and control voucher quota in the backend.

This platform was launched during the “Just Buy Week”, on each day, a limited number of e-vouchers would be released. During the shopping hours (12:00-00:00), customers can log in to the platform and purchase e-vouchers, which would then be saved in their wallets.

When customers shop at tenants’ offline stores, they can present the phone to sales associates during checkout. Sales associates would key in the unlock code to redeem the e-vouchers. 

 

Results

The platform has received great attention from customers. On the first day of sales, over 80% of the e-vouchers were snapped up in 30mins. In total, NTP has sold over 13,000 e-vouchers with almost 99% of redemption rate. This platform now serves as a new online channel for client to promote e-voucher and drive additional sales from online to office stores.
